Blogger of the Year

I have just been the best blogger lately, have I not? I mean, I have been johnny-on-the-spot with a new post each day chock full of witty, charming stories and cute pictures or great recipes or fashion advice or many, many other interesting bits of information for y'all.

Really, y'all should be honoring me with Blogger of the Year, I have been so good -- no, great -- lately.

(Okay, that was a joke.)

I have hardly had time to think, much less post anything, so I just thought I would pop in while I have a second to let you know that I am still alive...in case anyone is still reading....

And we still have not closed on our house.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so darn irritating.

And I have hardly seen my kids or husband lately. I have seen my kids more than my husband, but I still haven't seen them much. I see them for a bit in the mornings, but I usually get home after they are in bed. I miss those little buggers. I miss The Farmer, too. Talking to him on the phone just isn't the same, especially because we don't have a phone in our farm house, and he gets terrible cell reception there.

But, anyway, I am still here...

I will be back...

Pretty Girl

This pretty girl is my first born child -- my seven-year-old girl -- and that makes me feel older than my 31 years!

This pretty girl lost one of her top teeth last week and could lose another top tooth any day now.

This pretty girl gets out of school on Wednesday, and we couldn't be more excited! Yay for summer!!!!!

This pretty girl is as sweet and loving and kind as she is pretty!

I do so love this pretty girl!

Catch Up

Hello again!

It's been another busy week since I have checked in, so I thought I would catch you up on what has been going on with us farm folk...

1. We were supposed to close on our house Wednesday, but that didn't happen. After spending many sleepless nights stewing over everything that we needed to do to keep up our end of the bargain, the buyer's bank couldn't get them their closing package in time. We think we should be able to close Monday though.

Fingers crossed.

2. As I mentioned in #1, we had a lot of little last minute things to get finished to have the house ready for closing -- planting a tree for our neighborhood association, some small repairs, cleaning, etc. -- that seemed to take forever, but I got them all done with a lot of help from Muffie (she cleaned toilets!!!), my cousin's wife, and my dad. I am so thankful for all of the help!

3. Miss Priss is still in school, and I am so over it. She is, too. Honestly, by the time June arrives, all schools should be out; it should be a nationwide rule. Let's make it now!

4. I turned 31 on the 31st. Muffie and LP planned a fun surprise birthday night out for me; they took me out with a bunch of friends to dinner in a nearby city and to see Sex and the City 2. Although we weren't huge fans of the movie, we had a blast going out that night. It was a great little getaway for me -- I really needed a break from all of the stress! However, I would have loved to get in bed before 3:30 that morning!

5. I got pulled coming home from tennis at 9 the other night for driving without headlights, and I had no clue that I was driving without headlights. Really. In my defense I was driving my babysitter's car; however, it was a Toyota 4Runner -- a car like I used to drive, so I should have known how to turn on the headlights (but I assumed that they turned on automatically)!! That just goes to show you how exhausted we all are (I won't even get started on how out-of-sorts the kids are) -- and packing season hasn't even started for me!

6. I am supposed to be getting internet at the beach house today, so I will hopefully be around on this little ol' blog more starting today.

Radio Silence

Well, hello there!

I know, I have been gone for a while. The Farmer and I have been moving. I would have warned you, but it took me by surprise. You see, I was planning on moving this coming weekend, but last Friday, The Farmer called me up and said "Christie, I am on my way home with a U-Haul, and if you want any help from me with our move, it will have to happen tomorrow."

So we got busy moving.

And I did a lot of crying.

And now we are living amongst a lot of boxes at the beach house, a lot of mess at our old house (which, as I see it now, has no end in sight to the moving), and a lot of boxes at our farm house. Basically, my life is surrounded by boxes and all those final things I have to do before the closing next week.

And I am so behind on work and sleep it isn't funny.

And I am the Social Chair for my Junior Service League, and I am hosting an end-of-the-year party tomorrow night.

So I just might be a little stressed out.

Right now the kids and I are staying with my parents. We don't have internet at the beach house yet, so we are staying here so that I can catch up on work after the chillens are in bed, and I am getting there, slowly but surely. But, I may not be around much until I whip my life back into some sort of control...

Until then, I'm still here, and I hope y'all are doing just lovely!

Have you ever seen such cute little chillens and best friends? These are the children of our besties Muffie and The Architect, and they have grown up right alongside our kids. The Farmer and I are G, EC, and W's (not pictured) Godparents, and Muffie and The Architect are our kid's Godparents. We always talk about how one day we will be in-laws -- and, who knows, it could happen, right?!?!

The Weather Is Here, I Wish You Were Beautiful

Part of our weekend was spent doing this:

while the rest of it was spent doing the dreaded chore of packing -- or, at least, I packed while the kids tried to unpack everything as fast as I could pack it and The Farmer worked. It was a joy, really, and I just have more to look forward to!

Our house is starting to look really sad, and I am starting to tear up at the drop of a hat -- I think it is the combination of a lot going on at work, packing up the house, school coming to an end, etc -- it is all just getting to me. Really, I am a total loser right now. So if you know me in real life, you've been forewarned!

A Shameless Plug

The next time you are in your local grocery store, look for these little packages in the produce section. These are the best blueberries you will ever get your hands on, and I happen to know because my husband grew them! They aren't in stores for long -- just a couple of weeks -- so run on out and get some now, and help put food on my table.

Well, that and help support my shoe, clothing, and handbag habits...
