Resolutions of An (Almost) Eight-Year-Old

Each child in Tyler's class wrote down his or her New Year's Resolution when they got back to school after Christmas break, and they have been hanging up on the classroom wall until today. Tyler's resolution is "To spend more time with God."

I know I am her Mama, but that child just has the best heart! I pray that I will do all that I can to help her to spend more time with Him this year like she resolves to do.

In other T-Bird news, Ty has her first crush. And the cute boy has a crush on her, too. It is adorable puppy love. It makes me think back to my second grade boyfriend, Colin. He is still a good friend of mine today, but, oh, I thought he was the best thing ever in second grade!

Ty woke up this morning very excited that it was the beginning of her birthday month. On the 27th, she will be eight. I can't believe how quickly she is growing up -- can't I get her to slow down just a little???

I hope to be so lucky to have a little girl just like Tyler one day. She truly couldn't be any sweeter. It must be her mamma who taught her all that!

This post made me tear up because it is so Tyler (especially that last picture!). You have some good ones.

Tyler's sweet, gentle spirit shines constantly! She is a delightful member of our ministry and a joy to be around. I will never forget the day she told me she "talks to Jesus when she's on her swings."
